What’s the difference between Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

Gracie Jiu Jitsu is a type of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, that focusses on ‘self defence first’, as opposed to a purely sporting mindset. We find that for the majority of people, this has much more benefit and application in their day to day lives.
 
What do classes consists of?

To ensure that the techniques shown can be applied in motion, at Cronus BJJ, we emphasise both situational and free sparring, otherwise known as rolling. Before doing so, students are taught the correct use of body mechanics and technique, so they can be used ‘live’ effectively, and without hurting themselves in the process.

 

You will be taught Pedro Sauer's Syllabus starting with the legendary 88 Techniques - broken down into 25 set classes - White to B|ue Belt.  Once you start the BJJ journey it will change the way you think and function, giving you confidence, all whilst learning.
 
Am I too old / heavy / unfit / small to join?

Gracie Jiu Jitsu is great for all shapes, sizes, and ages of people; the system is beneficial for men, women and children!
